As part of COVID response, Gram Niyojan Kendra organized relief distribution, that included food kits for nearly 600 families living in Kanawani, an urban slum of Ghaziabad district. Kanawani is inhabited by migrant construction workers, wage labourers and their families. Gram Niyojan Kendra raised contributions from individuals to mobilise the relief response.  Families were very happy to receive the food kits since they were not able to access the relief measures distributed by the public distribution system due to non-availability of ration cards. Gram Niyojan Kendra has finalized the restoration activities that will be undertaken in this slum and other similar areas, as part of build back efforts to address the impact of COVID lockdown.
